Discuss Mission: Impossible

As we all know, in Season Six the IMF's cases changed from overseas missions to U.S. cases. I've always wondered why that happened. Does anyone have any opinions about this?

By the time season 6 rolled around, though, it wasn't such a big hit. The penny pinching was evident up there on the screen.

From what I've read, Star Trek wasn't the big flop that legend makes it out to be. It was one of the highest rated shows among the favorable demographics (high school and college students as well as the twentysomethings who had promising careers and lots of discretionary income). The biggest issue that NBC had with the show that Gene Roddenberry was such a pain in the butt to work with.

@sukhisoo spy Well, I do have to concede with your points. I had also read that Gene Roddenberry was indeed a "pain in the ass" to work with. I read in an Entertainment Weekly special issue is that among other things, GR would hold naked pool parties and reeked of pot.

I have also read in several different books that part of the ST claims to fame is because of a writer named Gene L. Coon.

UPDATE: Although in the Classic Mission Impossible series for the first five seasons it is strongly suggested that "The Secretary " is the Secretary of State, in Mission Impossible Rogue Nation it turns out that Alec Baldwin's character is the head of the CIA, in Fallout he had in fact transferred from the CIA to the Impossible Missions Force and has become "The Secretary" aka the head of the Impossible Missions Force, which is once and for all separated from the CIA (I hope).

I learn a lot from your posts 👍

Thank you! And I enjoy reading yours.

You know I've been wondering who's going to be replacing Alec Baldwin as theSecretary of The Impossible Missions Force since he got killed in Fallout. Now for most of Rogue Nation Baldwin's character was pretty nasty to the IMF until the end of the end of the movie. In Fallout, he was very proud to be the Secretary of the IMF until he got killed. At the end of the movie after Tom Cruise kills Henry Cavill's character (Cavill was a good villain but I just wanted to keep slapping him upside of his head) and the CIA Director (Angela Bassett) and the Indian Army save Tom Cruise, does this mean that Angela will be the IMF Secretary in the next movie?

BTW, has anyone on the board heard anything about Jet, I mean like ANYTHING? It's been so long that I'm beginning to think that the worst has happened. Anyone with any news PLEASE let us know.
