Actors Who Would Have Been Good IMF Team Leader

Another of my "What if this________ Had of happened on MI" topics to discuss is if for some nutty reason Peter Graves left the show, which actor would have been a good IMF team leader? My pick? The late, great Robert Lansing. Why? Because if he could command the 918th Bombardment Group based in Archbury, England during WW2, he could be a great IMF team leader.

Just discovered this sight, so I might be a little late in this thread...but I thought Efrem Zimbalist Jr. would have been good in the Phelps/Briggs role'

Welcome to the board! I hope you enjoy posting here! My problem with Efrem Zimbalist, Jr. would probably be that although as the years go on I'm beginning to like Dan Briggs more and more, after Jim Phelps most robust participation style in the missions, Efrem might have been a little too laid back.

You have a point Maria Kelly. EZ jr. would certainly be a more Briggish type of leader that the more active Phelps. One actor that I think would have been a robust leader in the Jim Phelps mode would have been Jack Lord. I think MI went on the air before H5O so it would have been possible to cast Lord as Phelps.
