Discuss Mission: Impossible

In this episode, Barney infiltrates the computer control room at the bad guys weapons facility. He introduces himself as Ray Harper, Computer Systems Analyst. When the bad guy asks why the usual person, a Mr. Connery, hadn't come, Barney replies that Mr. Connery is on another assignment.

Ever since the first time I saw this episode I've been wondering if that was a "tip of the hat" to Sean Connery and/or James Bond. Any theories?

Sorry Maria I didn't know it was an older thread that's why I missed it. I don't think I caught that reference or thought about that at the time.but now that you mention it it very well could've been

@Jayhn1111 wink The first couple of times I saw it, I wasn't sure if I heard it correctly. The next time I watched with the English subtitles on, and Barney definatly said Connery. I think that it was an in-joke/tip of the hat. What was your opinion of this episode?

I thought the episode was very good

@Jayhn1111 grin I thought that is was good as well. I loved how every time they needed a capitol building for a foreign country, they used the Pasadena City Hall, which is near where I live.

@lima-2 grin You know, I think that I may have started and/or posted on that thread.

Good ol' Pasadena I didn't know that lol

@Jayhn1111 wink Another Pasadena landmark that was used in multiple episodes were the grounds of Cal Tech.

@Jayhn1111 :😊Yet another famous Pasadena, California landmark used in Mission Impossible (and a lot of other movies and tv shows) is the Colorado Street Bridge. It's very beautiful, but unfortunately it's also a popular place for suicidal people to jump off of.

ooh I guess that kinda takes away from the beauty of it knowing that :(-

@Jayhn1111 :😢Sadly, it does.
