It seems they are trying for a love interest. I guess that is more important than saving mankind from doomsday? I guess the men in that family are all freedom fighters and attracted to Sarah?

Derrick doesn't become a love interest for Sarah, thankfully.
I'm glad they kept it friendly and not have everything be a romantic interest like all other shows tend to do.

Sarah and Derek pairing up would have messed of the Connor-Reese family tree a little bit...especially if they had a kid together.
