Discuss Project Runway All Stars

The good: My favorite was the graphic gray suit from the Australian. The lines on that jacket were amazing.

Second goes to the Mountie look. Yes it was literal but the proportions were spot on. The strong shoulder is back, I or so I've read.

Dmitri added just the right detail to avoid looking too peasant dress.

Seth Aaron's look was very Daryl Hannah in Blade Runner. One of my favorite films.

I was not a fan of Irina's look. Yes it had impact but I agree with Isaac, chicken costume at kids party. Worse, I didn't see her inspiration at all.

The bad:

I think I'm going to hate Django Eurotrash. He's just so fashion forward in that European way, doncha know, these judges just won't get him. His asymmetric skirt and weird white sleeve look were just strange.

Michelle should have been in the bottom. A glittery bolero over a very basic white muslin looking dress.

Anya does not belong here. She cannot design or sew anything but a flowy beach dress. Least deserving winner in show history.

Anthony got very lucky. There is no excuse for what he showed. He should have been eliminated.

Oh, they did not bring it. There wasn't a single great look. Not one that deserved to go to a royal ball. OK, maybe Irina's if you are a stripper. Once again she borders on vulgar. It was well made, though.

Biddell's was interesting but not really up to the high mark set by this challenge.

Dmitry, yawn.

Michelle made the colors work but no way in hell that was royal ball worthy. Sloppy construction also.

Anthony deserved to go. A white caftan with weird feather attachments. It reminded me of Sean's fishing lure dress, but not in a good way.

I started a thread under the Project Runway section for the new show on Bravo.

No, they didn't. Then, they got all stressed out as if they didn't know that they will have to make a formal for this competition. Irina was right about wondering WTF was wrong w/them.

Biddell's was interesting but not really up to the high mark set by this challenge.

He didn't bring anything interesting, but at least, he tried to move in the formal direction.

Dmitry, yawn.

No, Dmitry, granny-again.

Sloppy construction but it was cute but not ball worthy.

Yep. Fishing lure.

And now there are still four.

Biddell was the clear winner. I think he was the only one with three strong looks. My favorite was the tunic and the pants on the younger woman. So cute.

Michelle's looks were fine but but not cohesive at all. I hate that she tried to say that she didn't want them to be too matchy. That is not what cohesive means.

I was a little bored with Irina's. Not the worst though. That honor goes to Dmitri.

Once again he gets by on his past success. The black dress was good, but about the 6th version of the the same look. The other two were awful. The pants and top were so unflattering on the second mom. And that teen boy's look, wow. Super boring and ill fitting. No cool young guy would be caught dead in it.

I literally went to sleep on that. I thought I dreamed that the four still remained, but I was not inclined to search to find the truth.

Now, I'm not saying the episode was boring. I'm just saying that I knew it was predetermined that Dmitry, no matter what crap he sent down the runway, was going to

ice_skate

I liked all of his looks.

I loved the granddaughter's dress. I wasn't a fan of the jumpsuit or granny getup. Michelle's choice of fabric is no bueno!

Yeah, the boy was super cute but the women. . .

Definitely Dmitry needed the

boot

It's so obvious he's skating, and he's done nothing this season to be still there. I'm glad that Biddell said that.

This proves that Dmitry was not one of best winners, so why are judges trying to keep this weak sauce?

I just don't get it.

I think the final runway was great. Everyone did really well.

I LOVED Michelle's collection. Once again she makes color and fabric combinations sing that should be awful.

I give second place to Biddell. He had a couple of weak looks but overal I loved the drama that he brought.

Irina gets third place. Those two final looks were great and I liked the 3 dimensional aspect. I just didn't find her collection very innovative or exciting.

Dmitry had some stand out individual pieces but as a collection I thought it was a little flat. Btw, who was the woman assisting him? I guess she is a season winner but I don't remember her at all.

Agree!

He brought the talent and innovative designs, but overall they looked too Supervillainess costumey.

I was expecting more pretty. The two lace designs to me were too similar. The 3-D looked heavy and thick. The neon was just so passe.

Oh, I remember her; that's Erin. She stole the competition from Laurence, who made the Rolls Royce of Little Black dress but dropped the ball at fashion week. If that doesn't jog your memory, Erin made a cute yellow gumball candy for the unconventional challenge. Another thing, she loves yellow. Hence, her clothes were mostly yellow.

OK, I remember Laurence well but Erin, just barely.

Back from Costume-Con and we've caught up on All-Stars. (still have to watch the new PR).

Color us disappointed. We actually hated Michelle's collection. It was six sacks and that's all. We think the other three were all strong. We really like Bidell's, but he did have a few weaker looks. Irina's and Dmitry's were both strong throughout. We would have given the win to Dmitry. Which is surprising since we have not liked most of his looks this season.

Welcome back!

His collection was the least liked by me. It read too mumsy.

I could see Michelle's clothes on fit younger and older women. I am glad she won, and I was neither here nor there with Michelle. Anyway, I couldn't imagine Dimitri's looks on any young girls, no matter the technical skill. Heck, even his models looked sad to wear those clothes. However, his red jacket was amazing for a four-day challenge, yet I could only picture it on an ART MOM at a gallery opening. She would get a lot of nice compliments though. The other stuff he can drop off on the set of Shah's of Sunset.

Irina's was stuff you can find at the mall. Biddel's, technically fantastic/creative but it was too costumey.

Yeah, I don't see anything "mumsy" about Dmitri's.

But, you know, we all see different things. De Gustibus non est Disputandum. Its a matter of taste and no one's taste trumps another's. How often have we seen Tim, or Joanna or Anne give advice to a contestant that was completely the opposite of what the judge's thought? My wife and I do think all four did a great job on their finale collections.

I hope I didn't come off too harsh.
