Item: Season 1

Language: en-US

Type of Problem: Incorrect_content

Extra Details: The order of the episodes are incorrect. It's also missing the first three episodes of season 1 (More Than Meets the Eye Parts 1-3). Wikipedia has the correct order as noted in the Order # column to the far right on the list of season 1 episodes. This matches the official DVDs as well. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_The_Transformers_episodes#Season_1_(1984)

"More than Meets the Eyes" are special episodes listed in season 0.

The episodes are listed in the order of their original broadcast. If you want them in the intended order (same as the DVD order), you can use this episode group.

tmdb.org has the option to sort by Order or by air date. But the episodes are ONLY in air date which is incorrect. The order should reflect the intended order while the air date remains the same. That way it can be sorted either way. I'd say this is still incorrect. As for the Season 0, why is that considered a special season? The DVD collection has it part of season 1, as does wikipedia. Jot arguing but curious on why the special treatment. I'm building a video player that references data from tmdb and odd treatment like this that doesn't reflect the official releases is messing it up.

No. themovideb.org doesn't have this option.
The switch between numeric order and date order located above the dates is only here to help people entering the episodes to verify that they are correctly ordered.

Our rules are clear. The episodes should be ordered as per the first broadcast. If you want to use an other order, you can use an episode group. There is one for the intended order.

On this subject, I invite you to read this content report and eventually to continue the discussion in it.

We respect the first broadcast of the series.

Thanks for clearing up a lot of my confusion. I was unaware of the rules and did skim over them. I'll try to be more aware of that in the future. The air date is the primary, got it. I'll also be sure to put my $0.02 on that content report you linked to as well. I was also unaware of Episode Groups, so thank you for showing me that.

This still has me a bit confused. Here is a screenshot of what I'm talking about: https://www.dropbox.com/s/gpmqsh2r8qsjrhp/Screenshot%202021-04-29%2013.33.32.png?dl=0 . My assumption would be that the Episode Number would be the intended order while the air date is just that.

Could you elaborate? This is on the public side for visitors, not necessarily only for contributors. So it gives a confusing message if it's only intended for use by contributors. But even then, that doesn't answer why the intended order couldn't be adjusted separate from the air date.

Visitors and contributors are the same people. You can add new episodes to series where some are missing.

Visitors and contributors are the same people.

Then shouldn't the sort also be intuitive for a visitor? As a 'visitor' (prior to your explanation) it was not intuitive, and honestly it still seems strange. Is there a reason why the intended order couldn't be adjusted separate from the air date?

In my personal opinion, this sort option shouldn't be there. But, this is just my opinion. I'm not the creator of the website, just a moderator.

Concerning the order, we have decided a long time ago to always use the first broadcast order. These dates doesn't change.

The intended order, DVD order, ... are subject to changes. There are many cases where series are released multiple times on DVD set and each set having a completely different episodes order.

There are also cases where the broadcast network change multiple times the season and episodes split.

So, the intended order is not a usable data. The intended order for Mr. X can be different of the intended order for Mr. Y.

gotcha, thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.
