Having just watched The X-Files Season 10 a few days ago, I'm a bit surprised, from reading this board, that there's going to be a Season 11.
I was really hoping Season 10 would be a set-up for the third and final X-Files movie.
I'd heard, since before the first X-Files film, that Chris Carter wanted to make three films; I've liked both movies released so far (I know the second one was not very popular, but I liked it).
I really just hope they wrap the X-Files up with a third film and don't bother with a Season 11; as MidnightBlues said, too many seasons just dilute a good show-- a problem, to be fair, with American TV shows across all genres.
I personally think no TV show-- with very limited exceptions --should run more than three to six seasons, with about 40 to 90 episodes max. If they go much longer than that, shows tend to experience all kinds of writing problems, not to mention real-life logistical problems with the cast members.
