For him to turn out to be undercover and really with the allies.(The heroes went undercover so often. Sometimes they did so very amateurishly with fake German names based on their own real ones.)

Warner Klemperer sais to producers he would nt take role of Cpl Klink if Klink were written as sympathetic to the bad gys and were anti-good guys. Warner agree to make Klink as fumbling and gullible as possible for Hogen and that undercover Heros crew to bail Klink out of mishaps all for the good of the Allies while audience to mock.
Thus some and I would defer to the Warner and want him to be as naive as all get out while Shultz know nothink!
But your suggestion most excelllent too!

Yeah thanks. The only ep I remember Klink undercover was when he and Hogan went to the UK to steal a plane!

Right and diddnt Klink also fell into frozen well once when chased by wooves or maybe Shuulz?
