讨论 The Starlost

The first episode was quite promising, despite the difficulties of low budget and not being able to use the planned new effects method. But there were so many obvious plot holes in the episodes that followed, all of which probably could have been avoided with just another 2 minutes of thinking about the implications.

Episode 2, "Lazarus From The Mist." Why didn't they ask the computer for more details before reviving someone who was about to die? Or, having done it anyway, why not try reviving someone else? There probably was no expected need for any healthy people to be "preserved," so they could have found out that everyone in there had a similar situation and that's why they didn't revive anyone else. Or they could have just dealt with the "corridor people" (and how did THEY survive and reproduce etc, for 400 years?!?!?!) without reviving ANYONE. Either because they found out everyone there was sick/dying, or because they realized it would be smarter to wait until circumstances were better...

Once Dr Aron told them about plans in some domes etc, why not ask "Can I help you?" where to look? Even if it just starts saying "Inform bridge!" over and over again, at least it's something.

Just off the top of my head, I'll skip now to episode 11, "The Astromedics." What medical school was still graduating surgeons 400 years after The Accident? And where did Dr Farthing (Episode 14, "Farthing's Comet") get HIS degree from?
