When this episode was originally aired, I remember seeing Devon and Garth and Rachel approaching the Manchester Dome and encountering the blockade. It was seen from their perspective, and it was possible to read the message/warning on the blockade. But in the DVD version, all they show is the people inside the dome watching Devon and Garth and Rachel as like a spy-camera view, and we can't read the message.
Does anyone else remember it like I do? Which would mean that they used an edited version of the episode to make the DVD set.

Did you see the original broadcast in the 1970’s? This episode was edited together with the Gallery of Fear episode to stretch it out to movie length. That was probably done in the early 1980’s

I saw the original airings, and they have the separate episodes too in the DVD set. But it appears that the DVD set might have been made from films returned from stations after airing, and they sometimes cut out parts to run more commercials. The extracted film was supposed to be also returned, but maybe someone didn't notice or something.
