Discuss Shaun the Sheep

I'm concerned when sound policies (such as sticking with first aired) are applied too strictly. When broadcasters are legitimately re-editing the same material into 2 separate TV series, with different titles, intros, music etc. to expand the content's reach to other platforms..... Is it such a crime against humanity to list the dang clay-mation episodes twice? The horrible era of the 70's/80's with its content re-use re-broadcast plagues is where this rule is beneficial, among others. But Shaun the Sheep versus Adventures from Mossy Bottom? Not so much. S06 is in this curious case, legit; ignoring it won't make it go away.

Further: In many parts of the world the only way to see these episodes is as S06 of Shaun. Even in the US, mountains of people are gonna see the content for the first time as S06 of the studio's headline series. Thus we witness a good rule intended to avoid chaos in some shows, being applied here to make chaos in this one. I thought recording the truth of what broadcasters have done is also part of the TMDB guidelines?

Season 7 is coming FYI - it's announced for later this year I believe. There will be no end of these silly chat threads until S06 is brought back so as to make space for S07.

I'll now get popcorn and watch Shaun the Sheep discussion threads as admins continue to tilt at windmills.... (I love you guys so much, but... come on....)

sorry to answer myself... FYI, I had a look at those TV guys and for once.... I hate to say it.. (gasp) But TVdeebee seems to have handled this sensibly. Rare for them. They have Adventures from Mossy Bottom same as us. But (gasp) they have added StS S06 with a season title "Adventures from Mossy Bottom". That's the truth of this sorrowful situation. The repackaged content is in 2 different series, and the ghost-buster gun streams didn't cross to end the world. Thought I'd share in case it helps someone else. Toodles. :)

The new season that is labelled season 6 here is called season 7 on the official Shaun the Sheep page: https://www.shaunthesheep.com/news/2025/shaun-the-sheep-series-7-launches/ Even BBC iplayer calls it season 7 (they just skipped season 6): https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/b006z39g/shaun-the-sheep

Here, the season numbers need to be consecutive. This is mandatory and already explained here.

Well the point was that the creator, and BBC acknowledegs that the Netflix season is actually season 6 with a new tag line, and not a separate show. So the season numbering is consecutive.

We need to follow the original broadcast. Consequently, the Netflix season can't be listed as season 6 here.
