We finally had the perfect idiom to describe that point when a show is widely perceived to have lost its focus, strayed from its original formula, or is generally in decline and desperately seeking attention through gimmickery.
Still the show was good. I rewatcgef the who series recently and it kept my attention until season nine. When Jonnie and Chachi leave the show wasn't the same nor was it exciting again. I feel like hey really focused on Fonzie after that with Ashley and Heather. I kept wondeing how people kept tuning in week after week since it was only that. I didn't like Roger as much nor the replacements they brought in.

... and it also features one of the best moments in Arrested Development when Henry Winkler literally jumped the shark 😂
