Discuss Sister Wives

Kody and Meri released a joint statement yesterday that they were terminating their marriage relationship permanently.

"In light of a recent unapproved press release, we feel compelled to share our own truth, in our own way, and in our own timing," the former couple writes. "After more than a decade of working on our relationship in our own unique ways, we have made the decision to permanently terminate our marriage relationship."

The exes note in their statement that they are "committed to kindness and respect toward each other and to all members of our family."

They signed the statement, "In kindness, Meri and Kody."

therealmeribrown  Today I reclaim my power.

Last month's article by the 'reputable' People Magazine quoting me as saying that I had 'confirmed' that Kody and I had separated was a complete lie. The information, content, and timing was inaccurate and was based on a highly edited version of events that had been filmed months prior.

In the month's since the taping of those interviews, Kody and I have had many open and honest discussions that have led to our announcement today.

There is so much more to be told about this story, and I assure you, my truth will be told. But for now, know that there is peace in my heart, and I hold no animosity toward Kody. I am not, and pray that I never will be, in a place where I will enjoy making, or seeing you make, rude and demeaning comments about him.

You likely will have a range of emotions and opinions at this news and want to offer comments. In doing so, please be considerate of the fact that we are real people, with real lives, and real emotions. Please try to refrain from congratulating me at the break up of my marriage. I value the relationship I had, and look forward to stepping into 2023 and my future with grace, kindness and power.

Step into kindness with me. Put positive energy out into the world. Worthy Up!

They both are trying to play victim. Kody said on the show that he and Meri don't have a relationship and that he's not interested in working things out with her and that he would not say anything if she decided to leave. Meri stayed on all these years for money and the show but is playing it like she hoped her and Kody would reconcile. Oh and constant positivity is a form of avoidance.

They are lying. Meri said out of her own mouth during the tell-all that Kody was through with her, and that she had no choice in the manner.

I agree Poetist

Well they finally made it official. Kody even broke social media silence and announced it on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The funny this is that Christine and Ysabel both liked his post on IG (as did Doug).

I've been thinking a lot about this. I think they all played the fans all these years and they did that for money. I'm pretty sure this next season will be the last.

Funny? I think it's great that they were happy that Meri and Kody are no longer.

I don't think they were playing the fans, because why would Meri and Janelle give the proceeds of their Vegas homes to Robyn?

I think it is great as well; however, I do find it amusing that they both clicked "like" since he can see who likes the post.

That's the million dollar question. Why did they? The money could have been used to pay off Coyote Pass.

I believe Kody did some fast talking and convinced them that it wouldn't require all of their money, but he and Robyn know darn well that they have champagne taste.

I think he put the money down on the home and said for them to trust and believe that they'll get the money for Coyote Pass before they know it.

What I want to know is what happened to the proceeds of Robyn's home?

I'm thinking some of it went to buy Coyote, and she only bought her lot and not Meri or Janelle's. It doesn't seem fair to me.

Thinking back when the wives were at Coyote to pick where they want their homes built, I remember Robyn wasn't so quick to state what she wanted. I remember Kody feeling a certain way about the women leaving Robyn only the crumbs. His exact words.

Maybe, they felt she should get the worst plot, because she didn't contribute her fair share.

well We know Christine sold hers back to them for like 10 bucks. I haven't seen anything on what Janelle and Meri done with theirs.

Yes, I just wanted to know when they were all together. Did Robyn put any money or her fair share on the Coyote Pass plot? If two women help pay for her $850k home and put money on their own lot, what happened to Robyn's contribution?

It's evident that the other wives didn't pay off the land, except Christine. According to Kody, the family funds help pay for her home, but I remember her saying in a Vegas episode that she bought her home. Could have been some production editing facts, but the other women were set to rent homes.

I do know that Christine's home was the first to sell, but I believe the sale came after or near when Christine bought Flagstaff.

Assuming the Vegas homes were not paid off, I'm thinking that Christine might have walked away with $300k or so. She needed family funds for the down payment, since she didn't have it at the time. Once she got the Vegas proceeds, she paid for her plot of land.

This or a similar scenario might have happened with Robyn. Family funds were used to buy -- not put a down payment on as it was for Christine's house -- the home.

Once Robyn's home finally sold, she paid for her lot but Meri and Jenelle didn't get reimbursed.

They need to use this next season to explain the finances.

Or...

Since Christine tells her kids everything, let's hope Gwen spills the beans.

I think Gwen is being somewhat careful with what she says. She knows the show is the main source of income for the family. That goes away (which it could) then Kody's fear of living in poverty will become reality. Gun shows and Robyn not working isn't going to pay the bills.
