In that early episode, the Soul Hunter evidently picked up from Delenn's thoughts about the Minbari's relationship with Sinclair. But it seems like, if he'd found out that Sinclair had been/was going to be Valen, his reaction would have been different.

So, is it more likely that Delenn supposedly just didn't know about that yet, or that JMS hadn't thought of it yet?

Was it one of those trap doors we've heard about? Was a different character originally supposed to become Valen, and that only changed after Michael O'Hare left the show for medical reasons?

I suppose no Minbari including Delenn knew yet about Sinclair becoming Valen, since the letter he'd written to himself was still secret. So what was the Soul Hunter referring to as them "using" Sinclair?

Maybe just to do with the Shadow War or something?
