Okay, so, the two major theories of life in the universe are that there's life everywhere, or that life on Earth is unique.
And if the latter is actually true...
Aside from natural immortality...

Well The First Ones weren't "The First Ones" either, when they got started. They weren't born with those super-powerful spaceships, etc.
