Discuss Babylon 5

Delenn was always my favourite character in B5 and she played her beautifully.

Rest In Peace

It looks like maybe 13 episodes were already made, and Mira appears in 5 of them.

It's odd to say, but I think Babylon 5 had better effects.

Looks like it was actually made for Youtube, back in 2019.

I watched the first ep, don't plan to watch any more.

Yes... I was quite upset with the news. Got mostly drunk that night. By the way, John put together a memorial video for her: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKQ-gCXgMUk

Once I get home, time for another drink, to memories, still bright. I will miss her.

It is a very low budget series, being put together by someone who wanted to go back to the more adventurous 90's style sci-fi. I don't mind it actually, it's nice to see someone making it work with a small budget. It gives some hope for more independent science fiction work.

It's a great video tribute, but I had no idea who John was. At first I thought you were referring to Bruce Boxleitner who played John Sheridan, and didn't realize that his real first name wasn't John.

Unfortunately there I have to disagree. I don't think it "works." Good idea maybe, but not well executed. For starters, at the very start there's no way the rescue ship could have been pursuing and then overtaking etc, without also having the same atmospheric problems as the ship they were trying to rescue. And their "crash landing" looked to me like it was copied from whichever of the Star Wars prequels had a similar scene in it, I don't remember which one. And, why would a long-ago intelligent species from - or at least on - Mars create their information/command system or whatever it was, so that it was compatible with "synthetics" but not real people? I really wonder sometimes about some peoples' apparent infatuation with these kinds of things, which usually seems to derive from the reality that all of these "androids" end up being portrayed by human actors who couldn't really act like a true android no matter how hard they tried.

And there are some pretty jarring transitions that didn't make sense. Maybe some added scenes could help with that, but the "first episode" is already longer than has been allowed for an "hour" show for a long time.
