Today I fleshed out season 1 and added all the other episodes of WonderWorks. I also added all the same info to TVDB as best I could.
My info comes from my own research on newspapers dot com, where I have an account and can look at actual ads and listings from when the episodes were first airing. I mostly used the Los Angeles Times as my source. In some markets, new episodes aired plus-or-minus a few days or weeks from their nominal airdates, but the PBS station in L.A. aired the episodes pretty consistently on schedule, and the paper often ran ads or otherwise hyped upcoming episodes.
WonderWorks was an anthology series which presented (and occasionally co-produced) made-for-TV movies and mini-series on PBS stations in the USA. Often, the content had first aired on other networks (BBC, CBC, Disney Channel, or Australian TV) before getting a WonderWorks presentation. Longer movies were sometimes split into separate episodes and/or edited to fit into the allotted time, which was nominally 60 minutes until season 7.
PBS stations had a lot of leeway in when they could air the episodes, and reruns were common. In some markets, new episodes aired plus-or-minus a few days or weeks from their nominal airdates. For the final season and beyond, new episodes were 2-hour movies, although some stations would split them up into one-hour segments for reruns.
In late 1990, as season 7 was getting underway, it was reported that the series was not funded beyond FY91 and that the last new episodes would air by December 1991. So for our purposes, I consider it officially done after the last new episode of 1991 ("A Cry in the Wild", which aired in September). Nevertheless, reruns of both WonderWorks and WonderWorks Family Movie (the series title for season 7) continued airing on many PBS stations well after 1991, and I think maybe also on The Disney Channel. And notably, occasionally a new episode would drop—typically a title released a few months earlier on WonderWorks Family Movie-branded VHS. I spotted at least 3 of these in the TV listings for 1992 & 1993, so I added them as specials.
