Discuss Lost in Space

I'm an old timer who saw LIS in its original CBS run. The J2 was the craft that got me completely hooked into being what I call a "spaceship groupie". No matter how many times I see "The Derelict" and "Island in The Sky" , the spectacular model work never fails to amaze me. No CGI. We're talking old school here. Models on strings. I'm not kidding when I say that the first time I saw the crash-landing in "Island In The Sky" (I was 6) I thought it was footage of a real ship. My dad assured me it was only a model. That crash-landing sequence is arguably some of the best model work in TV history.. The first shot of J2 flying by that rocky peak with her engines singing out literally gives me chills and I've seen it dozens of times. Then, in the first color episode opening season 2 we get to see her lift off while all Hell is breaking loose around her as the planet "Preplanus" is breaking up. The ep itself is a royal stinker as many were in the last 2 seasons. Thankfully, Hulu has the series now so I can skip the stupidity and only watch the lift-off scene. Does anyone know how they got that ultra cool roaring whine sound effect?
