Item: Kamen Rider
Language: en
Type of Problem: Incorrect_content
Extra Details: Like Super Sentai and Power Rangers, this should be split into multiple shows.
Same reason as for both of these shows, Kamen Rider is a franchise and every "season" of this is actually a different show with different characters, crews, stories, etc.
Only the first season should be left in this entry, with every other "season" removed from this entry and split into their own entries in the database.

IMDB, which is rather authoritative, already lists out every Kamen Rider show as its own separate "TV Series", e.g. Kamen Rider Gotchard (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt27830205/)
TVDB, also lists each Kamen Rider show individually (https://thetvdb.com/series/438082-series), while also using the "single show, multiple seasons" approach (https://thetvdb.com/series/kamen-rider/seasons/official/34). They in effect list an episode twice.
It is unfortunate that all the previous posts that request splitting into individual TV shows have been turned down:
And in fact, in the entire TMDB forum for Kamen Rider, only these posts have received any kind of traction. We could definitely take inspiration from the TVDB approach?

It's basically unusable like this, each series is it's own story with sometimes PILES of extra material (see all the Ex-Aid stuff in S0 here? that's not even all of them for just Ex-Aid). Kamen Rider is just like Ultraman and Super Sentai, stand alone shows in the same franchise.

It's not users reporting them, it's the moderators removing duplicates. It's been explicitly stated above that the move needs to be done by moderators because there are some stuff linked to the current entries that users cannot move themselves.
This was argued years ago at this point, and I think pretty much everyone (moderators included) agree, at this point. It's just a matter of when people have time to do this fairly massive change.
It'd be great if a mod could chime in to tell us if this is still planned, or at least give us a time frame, because it's been years of waiting at this point (We're coming up on two years since the "it'll happen at some later date" comment from @superboy97 ). And more eventual work for the mod who takes care of it keeps appearing, because new shows get added every year, with their own actors, episodes, artwork, crews, etc to move over. Plus all the duplicates to remove all the time. It's wasted effort both for users and for mods.
That said, I still don't think people going around and making new entries is the right thing to do, but moderation really needs to at least talk to us about this. The last post on a mod here was from almost two years ago, and seemingly nothing has happened since...

This is the exact reason why TMDB is a contributor-driven effort. Contributors for the new "split-approach" should just be able to do what they need. It does not hurt anybody. TMDB is meant to be "inclusive", not pressuring everyone into submission under "some" authority.

I gave up and switched my default scraper to TVDB since it's actually usable for my main interest ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I just received a number of messages that all the separate seasons that I've encoded separately (including Ex-Aid, Gotchard) have been deleted by @superboy97 .
It seems that @neckspike has done the right thing -- Kamen Rider on TMDB is dead because of this iron fisted approach from the moderators like @superboy97 : "my way or the highway". The highway we go I guess!

The level of hypocrisy is rather intense -- the moderators are so busy and so active in deleting other's contributions, but they have done nothing to split the series, and cannot even commit to a timeline, yet they block everyone else from doing so. It is sad to say but TMDB is dead for Kamen Rider because of poor and abusive moderation. The moderators here for Kamen Rider seem to only be active to enforce "control" instead of intending to benefit the community.

As already indicated, the moderators can't do the split. Only the administrator can do it.

As a moderator I'm sure you can bring it to their attention, no?

We have already done this multiple times.
