I haven't seen this, so I cannot comment on what her mother would think.

Season 2 was greenlit as per official announcement yesterday, 2025-06-24.

It's not "stupid". It's called plot twist. Also, it became obvious her mother survived after they firmly established how her coin, which was her mother's, kind of serve as a "goddess of luck" charm/token. Her father probably didn't believe in it so he didn't susvive the assassination attempt.

Note: I haven't read the original source material which was the manga «Kakegurui – Compulsive Gambler».

I actually started watching the anime on Netflix, it's pretty good. Are they writing the season 2 script? Any way to learn more about the upcoming season?
