Shirley Murdock and the drag queen

Her story will be featured on 'Unsung' next Sunday and I'm wondering if they will talk about the drag queen who impersonated her and convinced many people he was actually Shirley Murdock. Supposedly he even slept with some men who were unaware she was a he and wasn't Shirley. I remember when he made the talk show rounds telling his story because I had never heard of Shirley Murdock before that.

I remember when this happened.
The impersonator was Hilton Lashawn Williams. I don't recall anything being said about Williams sleeping with any men who thought he was Shirley. But that makes for a more sensationalized story so I'm not surprised someone tried to add that to the factual story. insert eye roll here
I DO recall the radio interview with a hotel employee who said Williams stayed at their hotel as Ms. Murdock and didn't pay. The employee said he had never seen Shirley Murdock in person before so he didn't know what she looked like up close. He also said where he was from, an unattractive woman was just an unattractive woman and "not a man" so he just had no clue.
It took about a year but Williams was eventually arrested and sentenced to 10 years in a Texas prison.
