Gary Coleman is an example of a Hollywood kid whose parents stole his earnings and were so brutal they could have let him lead a normal life- he could have grown but they refused to pay for the operation needed. I watched this show in reruns when I was a kid becasue it went off the air in the 80's but i loved it and was so jealous i wanted to be part of that family. Conrad Bain really played a kind Dad but we all know that actors are not like their roles as with the DAd on Alf. Anyway, we live and learn. I loved the writing and that is what is important in a story not the actors the creative and wonderful writers who come up with the humane stories we all love.
