Each of the episodes I'm mentioning has a "previously on..." so this correction is canonical in-show.
The episode "Sleep of Faith: La Rue D'Awakening" begins with scenes from ep4 "Film Fest: Tears of a Clone".
The episode "Homecoming: A Shot in D'Arc" begins with scenes from "Sleep of Faith".
Episodes after this are correct.

So the airdate chosen by a network exec is more important to the order than the actual order of the episodes in-show as intended by the production?
This isn't some shuffling of episodes in the middle where the order doesn't matter all that much, as was done with some of the DuckTales (2017) episodes. In the show for these episodes it literally shows scenes from the episode that came before it and then scenes from the episode that will come next.

All our main listings are based on the original broadcast order.
Episode groups are used for alternative order.
