I haven't seen the first episode yet, but my understanding is that this is a "remake" of the first season.

Based on the English and Japanese overviews, it seems to be a new adaptation of the same source material. If that's the case, then "Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf" should have its own entry on TMDB.
