If I understand TMDB guidelines correctly, the season numbering for this show should start at 1 rather than the year(s) that the football season spanned in 1964/65. The first episode aired at 18:30 on Sat 22 Aug 1964 on BBC Two England. The season entries on TMDB are a mix of Season Year or Season Year/Year+1.

It doesn't appear that any database properly or consistently captures each season for this show. Since the first season aired 56 years ago it is understandable that there are gaps in the seasons captured.

TheTVDB uses Season Year but only has 14 seasons with a couple having only a single episode entered.

IMDb, on first look, has seasons numbered up to 55 but on closer inspection only has 12 seasons with varying numbers of episodes per season plus an "Unknown" season with episodes dating from 1969-2020. (Also if season 1 began in 1964 then the current season, 2019/20 should be 56, not 55... but I have yet to verify that there wasn't a year without a broadcast so this may not be an error)

TV.com has only 5 seasons.

I'm still scanning for reliable sources covering comprehensive history of this show but before I start messing about on TMDB with new entries and corrections to existing entries I'd like someone to verify the approach is correct. I believe the first episode that aired on 22 Aug 1964 should be entered as Episode 1 of Season Number "1" and the Translated Name field can have "Season 1964/65". But I'm not sure if this is a correct use of the field. Can I get some guidance here please?
