Debra and Robert...

I think there's more than a few occasions where Robert makes it clear how much he likes Debra... he's always standing up for her and complimenting her... he seems to have her up on a little pedestal and always takes her side... so it's no secret or surprise...
And i used to think it was one-sided... but while re-watching i think i've noticed that Debra seems to flirt with him too... but it's not so much "lines" she has, as little looks and smiles...
So perhaps it was more a case of Patricia having a crush on Brad?
Anyone else pick up a vibe between them?

If it was a different type of show I would have liked to have seen the Deb/Robert relationship explored a bit more. I love Ray, but he wasn't exactly an attentive husband. Robert always seemed to pay more attention to Deb's like/dislikes and feelings. The show was just a family based sitcom, but in another universe I could have seen some type of affair between Robert and Debra. Or at least something resembling an affair.

There should have been an episode where Raymond wakes up and discovers that Debra is married to Robert and he is the brother who's single. Perhaps then he would appreciate his wife and children a little bit more.

I think it is because they both feel like outsiders at times. So, they occasionally "get" each other
