It seems the show was afraid of the kids growing up. The closet we got was the room in the attic, Greg smoking ect. Yet after these eps Cousin Oliver appears dropping the progress they were making. The plots became childish again with more time devoted to Cindy & Bobby. Such a shame as the show gettin into the rebellious 70s was gold.

The first season especially was a family program. It featured the adults' issues as much as the children's. They learned "who was watching" and realized it had become a kids' show. They then tailored it to be teaching moments.
