Dr. Kazuki, who perceived of an invasion of Earth by the Izaru people builds a robot based on the science of magnetism and sphere joint theory. Undergoing a dangerous augmentation process, Dr. Kazuki's daughter Mai becomes the pilot of "Mighty" or "Magnetman Minus". Takeshi Houjou becomes the pilot of "Puraiza" or "Magnetman Plus".

The pilots would hold each other and then physically trasform their joint bodies in a metallic plate locking itself on the Gakeen (Short for "Gathering Keen") robot's frame thus enabling the super robot to move and fight. This sequence was notable, to an adult's eye, for its almost-sexual connotation.

Dr. Kazuki, die een invasie van de aarde door het Izaru-volk opmerkte, bouwt een robot gebaseerd op de wetenschap van magnetisme en de bolgewrichtstheorie. Dr. Kazuki's dochter Mai ondergaat een gevaarlijk augmentatieproces en wordt de piloot van 'Mighty' of 'Magnetman Minus'. Takeshi Houjou wordt de piloot van 'Puraiza' of 'Magnetman Plus'.

De piloten hielden elkaar vast en transformeerden vervolgens fysiek hun gezamenlijke lichamen in een metalen plaat die zichzelf op slot zette op het frame van de Gakeen-robot (afkorting voor 'Gathering Keen'), waardoor de superrobot kon bewegen en vechten. Deze reeks viel voor het oog van een volwassene op vanwege de bijna seksuele connotatie.

Per contrastare la loro invasione, il professore costruirà un enorme robot di nome Gakeen grazie alla scienza del magnetismo. Le persone destinate a pilotarlo saranno sua figlia Mai e un ragazzo esperto di Karate di nome Takeru. Il robot infatti, deve essere obbligatoriamente pilotato da due persone che ricoprono il ruolo Magneman Plus e Magneman Minus.

El Profesor Raymond construye el Supermagnetrón, un robot que utiliza energía magnética, para defender la Tierra de los Isaritas, una raza alienígena. Waldo y Lisa son los pilotos del robot. Para hacer aparecer al Supermagnetrón, Waldo y Lisa unen sus pulseras para convertirse ellos en dos hexágonos rojos que luego se unen a las demás partes del robot. Los dos hexágonos rojos, que se encuentran adheridos al torso del robot, son los polos positivo y negativo necesarios para el funcionamiento del Supermagnetrón.
