讨论 Twin Peaks

Hi, please NO PLOT & THEMES (dragons, time travel, donuts apology,...) SPOILERS.

I loved the good old two seasons, their original mix of dark mystery and madcap melodrama set in a self contained environment. I also loved A Straight Story. But I tend not to enjoy so much - euphemism - Lynch's more cryptic works such as Mulholland Drive or Lost Highway, even after reading educated analyses about them.

As you've probably guessed, I'm requesting your thoughts and opinions on this third season regarding the balance between "realism" and psychedelism. Is my poor brain gonna burn itself out trying and failing to locate and connect dots, or is there still some more down to earth material to keep oneself going ?

Thanks for the insight.

And if it's DOTS that you're looking to connect together, that definitely isn't something that's going to happen in THE RETURN version of TP.

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately for me, a confirmation of the few reviews I've read...

Just to make myself a little bit more clear about the "dots" : I'm absolutely not talking about closure, good, bad or otherwise, to the whole story and characters' arcs. What frustrated me with some of Lynch's works, wasn't that questions were left unanswered, but that I could barely come up with specific questions in the first place, or get a general idea of what was going on ; at the end of these shows I felt like I had just watched a sequence of great but disconnected paintings. In this respect A Straight Story sounded almost like a manifesto saying "look I can make simple and powerful stuff too !"
