Accepting people watch Twin Peaks because they
A) love the show
B) love David Lynch
but can't we all admit (even if we just whisper it) that much of this new season is a load of nonsense? A confusing mess that may or may not make any sense by ep 18? That doesn't mean you can't enjoy it - who says nonsense can't be entertaining? - but perhaps deep down we all know the show is kinda crappy. Heh. No point being in denial, right!

It's not crappy, I consider it art. It's David Lynch's vision and I'm trying hard to understand it, it's like standing in front of a painting in a gallery. The more you look at it, the more you see.

I don't think I have ever watched a Lynch work on first go around and said, "My GOD! That's BRILLIANT!".As a matter of fact, I hated Twin Peaks on first viewing. But as I have come to learn, the art that is a David Lynch film really does take time to absorb and bits and pieces begin to seep into the "Ah, I get it" category. It's part of the fun. I admit, for the average person who does not have a ton of movies seen under their belt it can feel a bit annoying and much like crap in a box with the label "art" written on the side. I remember! I was once there! But my past experience with Lynch is he is never fkn with the audience. It's all sincere and by standard purposes, experimental.
Take it or leave it is my best advice. If you find yourself TRYING to like it or forcing yourself to watch it then I suggest just move on. One day it will hit ya but until then there is no use in trying.

I recommend Enter The Void by Gaspar Noé if you want to watch something that's really "out there" but amazingly beautiful, touching and visually breathtaking. I didn't appreciate it the first time I saw it but the second time it was like I entered a state and didn't wake up until it was over. Be warned though, it's definitely not for everyone.
I apologize @fan_of_films for hijacking your thread, but maybe you can watch this instead?

Yep, I seen it. Seen other Noé 's work too such as Irreversible which has hands down, the most haunting rape scene I have ever encountered in a film (and I have seen a lot of films, trust me). But Noé likes to use experimental camera work which leaves a lot of viewers dizzy so be prepared for that.

It's amazing how some people still in the 21st century haven't learned how to operate a remote control.

That's ok, I still humor him/her. But it is true that it is more than likely a troll. They hardly ever retort or post past the opening post. They are just looking for us to explode and go off the handle like "HOW DARE YOU!?! YOUR TASTES SUCKS! GO WATCH TRANSFORMERS!" but I refuse to give it satisfaction.

The opening scene in Irreversible is said to resound a noise at a frequency that is supposed to, together with the cinematic effects, induce nausea. I also read somewhere that it was used in the military for torture. Do you know it this is true?

Whether or not it was used for torture I do not know but the opening scenes can make one nauseous for sure. Might even induce seizures as well. I think I remember a lot of strobing lights as the camera makes its way through a night club.
