Not a good start.
What I liked: The new workroom. The diversity of the contestants. The new female judge.
What is I didn't like:
Bland host. Bland mentor. The male judge, trying way too hard to be funny.
The fashion: A good, not great runway. I think I'd have gone with the other top look for the win.
Now to the worst of the worst: O M G they didn't send that blue bodysuit home. I get the feeling that it was because she is nice and nobody likes the WASP princess. Another decision like that and I may not continue.

I am really wondering if she has her own point of view. Normally I don't buy into the plagierism charges but in this case I think it's valid. Not purposeful necessarily, but piggybacking off of what others have done.

Generally not a fan of menswear challenges either. I think Laurence was very lucky not be be sent home (twice now, imo) and she was saved due to past work. I don't like that in an all star season. I think the worst look of the challenge should be sent home. Prajje's look wasn't good either, so I'm not too salty about it. I loved both of the top two looks, but on further inspection I can see the construction issues with Rami's so I would have given Bishme the win. I feel like I have seen Brit's look, or a version of it, many times. That seems to be her signature. Not a good one. I think she will be out next, barring a disaster from someone else and the final three will be Laurence, Bishme and Rami. I could see Rami coming up just short again. I think Bishme has momentum and my gut tells me he will be the winner. I can't wait to see a collection from him.

I am truly torn. So the judges chastised Bishme for referencing another designer in his look then hands him the win over Laurence. She gave them an original look. Korto was right. The judges are inconsistent.
Don't get me wrong. Bishe is great and love that he meets the challenge head-on, unlike some people. His use of color is my favorite thing. Not just the typical colors, but he goes for deep colors, shiny colors, and things that really stand out. You really never know what may come out of his head. Still, the judges knew that his look seemed familiar, so I truly think the win should have gone to Laurence.

So, glad that Brit got a tongue spanking. However, I was surprised that Nina couldn't persuade Elaine to see that Brit makes knockoffs of other people's designs.
I must say that Brit's design looked better than Rami's, which had construction problems and his fabric choices weren't the best. Still, he met the challenge and all Brit did was make a puffer coat.

I was pretty torn on this one. Maybe I’m not correct in my view of what constitutes avant garde, but I felt like only Bishme’s really was that. Laurence was close but I think with more exaggerated proportions hers would have been there. I don’t know what other designer Bishme was referencing so maybe that matters. Britt and Rami both had pretty uninspired looks so either could have gone. I agree with Rami’s elimination because it was basically a slightly edgier version of a gown that he always does.

I still see Bishme as winning this thing. I think he’s the contestant, the first in some time, who has what it takes to go far in the fashion world, ala Christian. Britt, Laurence and Rami are all very good at what they do and there is a market for all of them. Casual commercial, urban sophistication and high end evening wear are all money makers.

A bit late on comments on the penultimate episode. This was the least interesting avant garde challenge we can remember. Given that, we agree that Bishme and Lawrence were the obvious tops. We don't agree about the others. Rami's had fitting problems and a few incomplete points. However it was far more avant garde than Brittany's. We agree with the guest judge, Law Roach. That puffer coat wasn't avant garde at all. It was just a puffer coat with extended sleeves and that's been seen before.
We know some of our other designer friends take the position that quality of the workmanship trumps design. And to an extant we don't disagree. But we are pretty adamant that a look has to meet the challenge. If it doesn't we don't care how well made, designed, or beautiful it is, it has failed and should be eliminated. A bit harsh, I'm sure, but that is the way we feel.

Was there a new episode this week? It didn’t record one and I don’t see it in the listings.

I don’t see it in the listing at all next week. That’s weird. I already know who by won.

Okay, since we all know who won, I am glad that if my girl, Laurence (who had the better show, imo) couldn't win, at least Bishe took the win. Brit's looks were leaning towards costumey to me, so I agree with the judge who said that.

So I guess they are not going to repeat the final episode. I'll have to get it online somehow.
