Not a good start.
What I liked: The new workroom. The diversity of the contestants. The new female judge.
What is I didn't like:
Bland host. Bland mentor. The male judge, trying way too hard to be funny.
The fashion: A good, not great runway. I think I'd have gone with the other top look for the win.
Now to the worst of the worst: O M G they didn't send that blue bodysuit home. I get the feeling that it was because she is nice and nobody likes the WASP princess. Another decision like that and I may not continue.

We thought this episode had a great concept that a lot of the designers did not achieve.
We were good with the bottom three. We did think Delvin had a good idea using the muslin as part of his design. It was a shame the rest of the design was so bad. We strongly disagreed with the guest judge's comment that he should have made the whole design around the muslin. The only reason it worked, in our view, was there was just a little peak.
As for the top three, we would have dropped Victoria's. We really like the design, but it had no relation we could see to her heritage. It definitely had an SF flare to it. It would have been at home on the original Star Trek or, with more embellishment, on Star Trek Next Generation.
We would have moved Brittany into the top three. That outfit said cowboy without being classically cowboy.
We really liked Dayoung's design. We thought it was more Hanbok than Kimono. We do agree some wide pants or a longer, more flowing skirt would have been better matches to her top.
We would have given the win to Dayoung. While we kind of liked Chelsea's, and it was exquisitely made, it just didn't reverberate for us as much as Dayoung's.

Komodo dragon, yes. Kimono, Japanese native female dress.😁
I see what you did. 😏

Another great challenge this week and a really fun runway. I didn't hate anything.
I think the right top three and winner were chosen. Brittany's look was just great. Delvin was a close second.
I didn't hate Nancy's as much as the judges did. I don't generally mind volume but I agree that her coat had too much. The pants did too. I might have put Chelsea in the bottom instead. Marquis, why would you choose such a stiff fabric for a playful challenge?
Random observations:
Again with the design micromanagement from Christian. JUST STOP.
When are they going to stop propping Daeyang up?
I was loving the shade Delvin was throwing at Sergio. Loving it.
I want this artist brought back the next time they are considering Marnie.
Lots of sophomoric humor potential. My fav, the boning won't work without the right pressure.

Victoria showed herself to be a diva with all her moaning about working with prints. This is a show that asks you to work with trash, shower curtains and pipe cleaners, so deal with it. In my opinion, Victoria is a one-trick pony. Yes, her sewing skills are on point but it’s the same look over and over.
I really didn't like the winning look. I think the yellow pleated skirt and the bandages were too much for me. Winning Look
I thought Devin should have won, because his design was the best out of the lot.

I agree.
I didn't know what Marquis was thinking.
At this point, I think the micromanagement is needed. It's not as if the designers are going to listen half the time, though.
See. Devin was right.
Marnie is lame, imo.
I missed out on a lot of the humor. Thanks to a particular family member, moaning about PR.

I am so over Victoria. Finally the judges talking about how she basically does the same silhouette every challenge. Cutouts, lines cutting the body in weird places. And now a diva to boot.
Thankfully Delvin took that huge ruffle off and did some tailoring. Despite that out there print it was very wearable.

An interesting episode. We liked the concept and we like Ashley Longshore. Unfortunately, we don't much like her artwork. But that is a matter of taste and a good designer should be able to work around things they don't like.
Which is Victoria's main problem. She's not the first who has problems with prints. (and a lot have problems with color, too) We were amused that the judge's commented that the last two challenges she hasn't really addressed the challenge, yet last week they put her in the top.
We like Nancy's pants and top. The coat was gigantic and she should have known better. She was following a valid theory; Prints that complex can often be best shown off with simple lines.
We really liked Dayoung's. It was very Asian in line and did a good job breaking up the print with the solid panels. We are concerned about her health. Isn't this the third time she's had a near crisis?
We thought either Dayoung or Brittany's was worthy of the win.
Marquisse's was terrible. We heard he said he was self-taught. But any designer needs to be able to handle darts. We wish we could see that blouse more closely. Front what we can see, there are several problems with those darts.
First, the arms don't look even. Dart arms don't have to be straight, but they do have to be a equal length. Darts from the waist can be tricky and, in our view, should be avoided unless necessary for the look. (or if you have a long look and need a double pointed dart to handle both the bust and the hips.).
When sewing darts, stitch length should get short as you approach the tip of the dart. That could be why there was so much distortion. Also, a dart should end just short of the point; in this case, the bust point. These look like they go past the bust point, which will also cause distortion.

Victoria was another Grade A spoiled B today. I loved the guest judge . She knew nothing about Victoria and immediately called her out on her lack of humility. Victoria deserved to go home for her attitude alone and the fact that her dress had nothing sheer.
Dayoung needs to have a complete physical with multiple blood tests. Nobody passes out, falls out, etc.. as often as she does unless there is a medical cause. I'm glad she chose to remove herself from the competition. Her health needs addressing.

Now, I'm wondering why wasn't Victoria sent home, because she didn't use truly sheer material. However, I guess there isn't a chance in hell the judges would have sent Victoria home over Chelsea. I mean the judges love what Victoria does, they want her to win this thing, but Victoria herself is standing in the way of that.

Devon is too smug and thinks too highly of his work, but to me, it always falls short. To me, his latest design needed something added to the top, though I love the skirt.

I must admit I was right there with Brandy and Devon over Marquise being in the top. I thought M should have added more to the shoulders like Nancy did.

I didn't know they had the models behind the screen, and I felt bad for the heavy set model to be selected last.
