Not a good start.
What I liked: The new workroom. The diversity of the contestants. The new female judge.
What is I didn't like:
Bland host. Bland mentor. The male judge, trying way too hard to be funny.
The fashion: A good, not great runway. I think I'd have gone with the other top look for the win.
Now to the worst of the worst: O M G they didn't send that blue bodysuit home. I get the feeling that it was because she is nice and nobody likes the WASP princess. Another decision like that and I may not continue.

I was shocked that the Muslim woman didn't know how to work with cotton, the easiest fabric to work with in the world.

Omg, yes. Even I can sew cotton.

Sergio, the one with the long train dress, was definitely protected from the bottom because production wants to keep him around as a reality TV character. His look was a giant FU to the challenge, didn't even pretend to make a street wear look, and it was just a bad old costume look, imo.
Geoffrey should be lucky he was in the top last week though, cause his look was bad, more deserving of a boot than Veronica.
The winning look met the challenge criteria. I liked it but I wasn't loving it.

Kind of a disappointing runway. I agree about the winning look. I would have chosen the shredded look from the older woman.
The other top look was all about the fabric choice. A pretty standard coat otherwise. And boy is he a douche.
In generaI, I found most to be pretty safe. Streetwear inspired by Cats should have produced edgier looks.

I can't remember her look.
I agree about the look but not about him being a douche. It is a competition, and Dayoung had six helpers. They were pretty much making her garment. It is one thing to help with a zipper, but helping someone who chose to make something too time consuming is Dayoung's fault.
I agree. It was so blah.

Overall we thought it was a decent runway. We agreed with the top and bottom three and the eliminated designer. We would have picked the coat over the winning design. But that opinion isn't so strong that we object to the winner.
The coat was not on the edge, but we didn't think any of them really were. What we liked about it was it avoided the ubiquitous brown we saw in every other design. It could be argued that being inspired by cats the designs should reflect cats. But cats come in a plethora of colors. We were disappointed we didn't see any of those other options.

Good point, as I look at my black cat.

We did see some black and white. Grey and yellow -- perhaps not but I agree the green was a welcome relief to all of the drab colors.

I thought this was a great runway. The only looks I really didn't like were the bottom three. I agree with Sergio for the win and the cranberry explosion dress in the top. I liked Shavi's dress but not on that model. He's the Mahershala Ali lookalike.
Several of the safe looks were pretty good too. I really liked Nancy's houndstooth print dress. Imo, lab coat Delvin is still a douche.

I liked the top three, but I agree with the judges on the top two. Shavi and Sergio were stunning. Shavi couldn't help that he got that model. I know this is bad, but I don't think the designers should have plus size models on the unconventional challenge for obvious reason.
I wish he would take out the nose ring. Seriously, that thing's post looks like a bugger.

Interesting Runway. Unconventional Materials always makes for fun options.
We agreed with Victoria and Sergio in the top. My wife liked Shavi's petal gown but I didn't. I thought it was messy and would tend to overwhelm most models. I would have put Nancy's in the top.
That said, we both agreed Sergio as the winner. I would have put Victoria in second.
As for the bottom, we had no quarrels with it. We were sorry to see Alan go because we like him. But he has had two in the bottom and this one was particularly egregious. We could see no relation to the challenge and it was badly made to boot.

I have a big problem with Victoria's dress and maybe Nancy's as well. I don't really know about Nancy's dress, but Victoria stated she used pillowcases, which is like a material. She didn't create her own textile, and I wonder why the judges didn't call her or Nancy (who used a tree skirt as a poncho) for it.

This challenge was one that produced good and bad looks. I understand why they chose Victoria as the winner but I'm just not a fan of her work. I find it too busy and unflattering for most women. Karli could wear it though and it was her challenge. I just prefer cleaner lines and more upbeat feel.
I loved the other top looks. I could not at any time in my life worn that denim look, but Karli could.
The bottom looks were all terrible. Any one of them could have gone. Shavi has done some good work so I'm glad he stayed.
Christian has steared a few people wrong this season and this episode it was Tyler. I think his original concept would have been better than what he showed. And dude, everyone knew exactly what you meant by that Cushner comment. That lame explanation did not improve the situation.
I loved the new stylist. Keep her please and ditch Marnie.
How fabulous is Laverne Cox 👏👏

I love, love, love this challenge, and they need to bring it back every year.
That look was
One thing I have been noticing w/Victoria is that she sticks to the same silhouette. She needs to switch it up.

Re: Tyler's words
WTF, Karlie?!
To me, they made it into more of a dig than it was - and now I can't look at her the same way. Sorry, but that is the family you married into. Warts and all. Deal with it.
By the way, Karlie's not amused, stone-faced reaction was totally shocking. I thought she would have cracked a smile.
And I love how Tyler hoped that Christian would use his save on him. LOL
This whole thing was great entertainment, but if Karly was smart she'd have talked the judges into waiting another week to can Tyler. Now, she looks petty, spiteful, vindictive and immature and insecure which isn't a good look for anyone.
