Diskuter Joan of Arcadia

What happened here? The first season was hugely successful -- critical acclaim and Emmy nominations for the show and for the star. Then the second season comes and they're flailing around. There's a subplot about a lawsuit that never makes sense (we never even learned what they were being sued for) and is finally dropped. An impressive new character (Judith) is introduced and gets killed off . Behind the scenes CBS kept talking as if the show was a problem that needed to be fixed. They have publicity stunts -- let's have a musical episode! Let's bring on the Duff sisters! And toward the end the romantic lead suddenly turns into a two-timer. Some idiot in management said he thought that would lead to "interesting stories". In fact it killed the show -- a textbook case of a great TV show ruined by executive meddling.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=notKtAgfwDA Yep, those "teenage mutant TV programmers" only know how NOT to do things...

I read recently that Amber Tamblyn is one of the actresses now accusing a Hollywood suit of improper behaviour. I wonder if it happened during the show and ruined everything
