Item: Urusei Yatsura
Language: en-US
Type of Problem: Incorrect_content
Extra Details: According to the anime's episode page, most episodes have multiple segments, labeled on the website as "Episode #-A" and "Episode #-B," with each segment having its own distinct title and overview.
As such, the segments have been split in accordance with our anime guidelines.
Please move any added cast and crew members into their respective segments. Also please report any images that are incorrect (i.e. not from the segment they have been added to).
Moving forward, new episodes of Urusei Yatsura should be added as combined segments (i.e. the April 19, 2024 episode should be a single entry titled "Asuka Returns / A Stormy Date (1)" on TMDB) and previous segments will be merged. Travis, the admin, ultimately decided during an internal discussion about X-Men '97 that these types of segments shouldn't be split since that's not how they were originally released.
This is only with respect to the segment split, whether there should or should not be a second season was not discussed.

Actually simkl is even more accurate with animes (airing dates, episodes) than tvdb. They're using not only tvdb but also MAL as a source.
Scrobbler, webhooks are free. Sadly it's not as polished as trakt and their mobile app isn't really great.

Was using TMDB to scrape tv series but found this site created problems in jellyfin and naming conventions. TinyMM can’t use MAL at the moment. It’s still good for movies most of the time and very complete in information. I generally use MAL to mark tmdb scrapes as corrupt to ignore them.

It's a shame TMDB has to be this idiotic! I love using Trakt but the fact that they use TMDB data for anime is becoming very aggravating to use the platform. I would make the switch to SimKL (even if their UI is less intuitive) however the way they structure seasonal anime content makes it a hassle to use and makes even importing from Trakt practically useless. Just wish TMDB would ACTUALLY LISTEN to users and make the changes that the majority of people have spoken out about.

Simkl does it like MAL. there's actually 2-way syncing between MAL and simkl. But yeah, importing from Trakt will result in "unwatched" seasons. It was a bit of work but worth it, at least in my case.
I tried to use trakt and my favorite app, series guide again. But it's already bothering me.
The great cleric aired today, in tmdb it's next week. Ongoing Edens Zero count, same for Rent a Girlfriend...

How is this still the same damn issue... When will they finally change these "rules", they just break everything even remotely relying on TMDB when it comes to anime. Seriously.

Please rectify before the second season and especially not do the same stupidity for season 2.

Do the mods not realize that if they stop applying a rule meant for Looney Tunes to anime, literally no one would complain…?

You are not serious about continuing in this direction with the addition of no cutting in season...

Don't forget splitting up segments into episodes

其实为什么中文内容多,因为有大量的汉语使用者在编辑条目,在辛勤付出,而不是说TMDB有多好,脱离了这批进行编辑的人,它也不过是一个只在乎自己规则的影视信息网站

Has there ever been an example of an anime where segments were aired combined as episodes and then those segments were later aired or sold with different segment-to-episode grouping to their original episodes or even individually?
If not, there is zero reason for this rule to apply to anime.

I've seen around 1000+ animes from the 70s up to now (started watching mid 90s) and I'm not aware that this ever happened.
Oh look, three "episodes" aired today. Who would be thought 🙄
