"The Princess and the Pea-Sized Brownie"

Once upon a time in a land moderately far away lived a handsome prince who was looking for a princess. Try as he might, he could not find a princess dainty enough to be his bride. But then, on a dark stormy night a young lemony maiden arrived, tired and disheveled but ridiculously beautiful. Prince Tim wanted to marry her at once but he wasn't sure that she was a real princess. So, he decided to put her to the test. That night he hid a pea-sized brownie under 10 mattresses and asked her to sleep upon them. The next morning she awoke and proclaimed she'd had the best night's sleep she had ever had! Prince Tim knew she could not be a real, dainty princess if the pea-sized brownie had not hurt her back, but when he saw that she had not eaten it, and instead had left it for him, he married her anyway. (The vows did include him always getting the corner pieces of any future brownie batches.)

~The end.~

I have been instructed to let you both know that there is only one true princess here. Who might that princess be you ask? Why Princess Penny, the one true princess of Pasadena. Now you either stop this other princess talk or I can just let you right off here, and I'll go to Disneyland by myself. Is that understood?

I'm sorry.

(hangs head in sorrow and remorse)

is Znexyish gone?

OK when did I imply your family were derelicts? Of course if that was what you jumped to maybe there is some truth to it.

Stay tuned for the poor little match girl and her lemonade stand.

I'm looking forward to the next installment of story time.

I missed you Timlet.

A Long time ago in a kingdom by the sea there lived a fair maiden called Lemon-Bell Lee. This kingdom was ruled by the kindly King Tim who the forbade the fair maiden from learning to swim. Which was kind of silly since she was a mermaid

King Tim said to the lovely Lemon Bell Lee, "If you swim to the land things will get out of hand. Stay here with me in our kingdom in the sea."
But would she listen? Of course not....

To Be Continued....

WAIT...I'll make popcorn.

I see this one requires rhyming.

Bell Lee swam to a nearby port,
Where she met a fellow who sailed for sport,
He said Bell Lee you're a fine girl what a good wife you would be (1),
She rolled her eyes and laughed and said I bet you say that to every girl in the sea.

Then she went to the store.
To look for some more.
Popcorn for King Tim.
And she swam back home.
Through the waves and sea foam.
To give the popcorn to him.

But no credit for Poe?

Annie Lee

It should be noted that Tim and his buccaneers only keep the mermaids out of the water occasionally. They have to go out and clean up the junk that gets thrown in the water. Also, if they eat too much popcorn, they have to wait 20 minutes. Otherwise, they may get cramps.

We do this because we care.

You might call this "extra credit".

I will continue the story but if permissible, I think I will dispense with the rhyming. Only because I'm nowhere near as good at it as our friend Z.

After dropping the popcorn off at King Tim's Castle, Belle (who added an "e" to her name to look more feminine) swam home to sleep. (Swimming the ocean for constant popcorn runs takes a lot out of you.)

The next morning she arose refreshed and ready to head to work. It just so happens that not only was Belle an excellent swimmer and popcorn fetcher, but she was also owner of the small island kingdom's only rototiller replacement part and and gourmet chocolate store.

As soon as she unlocked the door, in walked King Tim. Coyly she smiled and asked, "Would you like to see some of my parts?"

...

I wouldn't touch a line like that for a free trip to Poughkeepsie.

Rototiller maintenance is a sensitive subject, I realize. But I can't tell this story alone.

Not even when you know that there is someone there who is really pretty, really smart and a lot of fun. wink

I've heard about those rototiller "parties" The start with a few "innocent" discs and before you know it you're turning over the back 40. And just why may I ask does a mermaid need a rototiller in the first place?
