Today is the first day of “National Library Week” (April 3-9, 2022).
Kinda feared that ‘tech’ would spell the end of our brick and mortar going-to-the-library ways. Glad to see this is not the case. Ran across these interesting eye-openers…
(1) “Visiting the library remains the most common cultural activity Americans engage in, by far.”
(2) According to a Gallup Poll (Pre-Pandemic, 2019 stats), “Americans visited the library more than they went to the movies, live sporting events, museums, concerts, amusement parks and casinos….”
Even though libraries were closed for a time due to the pandemic, staffs still stepped up and pitched in to provide many services to communities. Heroes can be library staff too.
To borrow a word from Howard Wolowitz:
“Recognize!”
