Today, June 6th, marks the 77th anniversary of D-Day.
Usually, in honor of this day I go with the Henry V, St Crispin's Day speech; but not this year. This year feels different. Not ashamed to admit that the events of the last year+ have dampen my "they died with their boots on" bravado. This anniversary finds me a lot more reflective.
“Lest We Forget”
"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

It's been a year already! Where did the time go!?
Anyway…
Today, June 6th is the 78th Anniversary of D-Day.
I saw a news report this a.m. featuring a former soldier who was there that day, and who had returned for this anniversary. I couldn’t help but think: You got to be made of some really tough stuff to willingly return the place of such a horrific experience. But, there he was…singing the praises and honoring the memory of his fellow American, British, and Canadian soldiers who died that day.
I say: Well done!
