  1. I am thankful that my devotion to comics, Star Wars, Star Trek, and all things nerdy, have reached some level of acceptance with the general populace. There was a time when interest in superheroes and sci-fi made me an outcast but now I can talk about it openly and almost feel normal most days. Almost...HahA!
  2. Cranberry sauce with actual berries. My wife always makes it with actual cranberries. She'd divorce me if I ever came home with a can of cranberries HahA!
  3. Stuffing, because we stuff the turkey with the...er, stuffing.

1.Yes, I think TBBT did more than any other show to bring "all things nerdy" into the limelight in a positive way. Some people don't agree with me, but as someone looking from 1/2 nerdy viewpoint and 1/2 mainstream viewpoint (I've always straddled both sides growing up), I see that it made a huge impact.

  1. I have actually never been big into cranberries (I find them a bit bitter), but think I'd prefer the jelly-consistency kind out of a can. (I know, blasphemy. wink ) I think I'll be wild and try some this year.
  2. I wonder if what people call dressing/stuffing varies by region? Where I live the two terms are used interchangeably, even when it is served as a side dish and not inside the bird.

Also, I've thought this before but never actually typed it out, but for someone name Dark_Sithlord, you are a very nice fella. slight_smile

If not for watching TBBT I would have finally mastered Greek and Latin.

Both. I like the way the can leaves the indentation from can on the cranberry mold. Some people put walnuts in the cranberry which is wrong.

1.I don't have a smart come-back for this one.

  1. Anyone who puts nuts into something squishy ruins the pleasure therein. (Old Chinese proverb.)
  2. I see you go with its proper name.

New question: Correct Thanksgiving dessert: Pumpkin Pie or Pecan Pie (Before answering, consider my ancient Chinese proverb.)

It is very easy to make a great cranberry sauce. Fresh cranberries (one package), sugar to taste (about a half cup), chopped orange & lemon (if desired, plus some zest from both), & some finely grated ginger to taste. Bring to a boil with about a half cup of water, simmer until berries burst open. Cool then refrigerate.

That does sound delicious!

Let's not forget the traditional tracing over your hands with crayons to make the perfect thanksgiving turkey picture ✋🖍️🦃🖼️

It is, although I generally use way less sugar & water than most. Just adjust as you see fit.

Or tracing over your ear to make the perfect thanksgiving platter picture!

Now go up there and look at that question I asked you about dessert!

Also, nice use of emoticons.

I'm not a big Thanksgiving person anyways. Pumpkin is for horses not pies But if you insist serve anyways 🥧 Same with nut pies. Just freshly made whipped cream not the aerosol can kind.

I'll accept your answer though the correct answer would only be pumpkin pie. If I wanted to eat a bunch of nuts I would have been born a squirrel.

Pumpkin pie is okay but only if Bratface makes it along with her cranberry stuffing sauce

I meant to ask you if you were impressed with the title of this thread. It's a palindrome!

I wondered about that thread title but I thought maybe you had one too many Long Island Iced Teas from the Cheesecake Factory.

There's usually a method to my madness.
