Assuming the pandemic ever ends, I would love to do a road trip someday of great cities around the US. For the city that you suggest:
Best tourist spots
Best restaurants
Best nature spots

Yes, even in the olden days there were crazy people who thought that leaving the ground made things more fun.

Okay, thanks. The Office is the only one of those three where I have watched the entire series. Haven't watched a single episode of Parks and Recreation and it's probably been 30 years since I watch The Simpsons.

Honestly, I can't believe I knew what they were referring to, I do not watch any of them.

I watched the original version from the UK, tried a couple of this version. It didn't grow on me.

I will say it took me a while to get hooked, and Michael Scott really got on my nerves at first. In fact, that might kind of be the case with comedies in general for me. I almost gave up on Schitt's Creek after the first couple of episodes but I'm glad I stuck with it. It turned out to be a really sweet show.

The Simpson's Springfield would be an interesting place to visit. There is a Theme Park, but that's something else.

You Canāt Make This Stuff Upā¦
ā'The reviewer spent time in jail as a result.' TRIPADVISOR, in a Nov. 11 update to its listing for a hotel in Thailand that had an American guest arrested after he posted negative reviews.ā (TIME Nov.30/Dec.7, 2020)
The minute I read that blurb, couldnāt help but think about this Thread asking posters for vacation recommendations. I know the request is for continental US locations; but still, considering how much negative stuff we post, couldnāt help but
at the thought of someone being dragged away in cuffs for giving something a

Although; kind of
how those 'BIG BROTHERish' hotel folks knew who wrote that, no doubt,
review. Surely, the guy
didnāt use his real name

I remember reading about this a couple of months ago. Here is another story that lists his name. But Thailand is really strict about any criticism especially about the royal family, government, etc.

"You know that wherever and whenever you are, you are being watched. Each government has a secret system. A machine that spies on you every hour of every day."
Of course in this case it wasn't too difficult to track down someone who is staying at a certain hotel that got a negative review.
He is fortunate that he was not staying at one of the hotels owned by the Royals of Thailand. Any kind of negative comment would have resulted in a lengthy prison sentence of up to fifteen years.

Thanks.
Not even a mountain out of a molehill...more like a mountain out of a speck of dust!
Wish someone had stepped forward at some point and yelled: Bazinga!

A fellow "POI" fan.
When I thought of this thing as just a lite, chuckle-worthy piece, I didn't give it much thought. But, now that I'm disgusted by the whole rigmarole, it occurs to me thatā¦
...Wouldn't having someone arrested for giving your place a bad review, be like one of the worst PR moves ever?
...Wouldn't you worry that upon finding out about such a thing, potential guests would have second thoughts?
...Plus, is that really the world-wide "notation" youād want on "TRIPADVISOR", or any other listing, re: your hotel?
Anyway; their action reminds me of that old adage about driving-a-tack-with-a-sledgehammer.
