A catchphrase from a favorite show can take on a life of its own. It works its way from the show’s make believe world into our real one. Then…forever after…whenever/wherever we hear it we think
of the show and the characters.
Bazinga is the catchphrase from TBBT.
Here is a list of other memorable TV show catchphrases (ranking on the site). If you were adding “Bazinga” to the list, where would you rank it?
First?
Between __ and __?
Last?
- Dy-no-mite! -- J.J., “Good Times”
- D'oh! -- Homer, “The Simpsons.”
- That's what she said -- Michael Scott, “The Office.”
- What'chu talkin' 'bout, Willis? -- Arnold, “Diff'rent Strokes”
- Ayyyyyy! -- The Fonz, "Happy Days,”
- Hey now! -- Hank Kingsley, “The Larry Sanders Show”

I don't agree with the order of the catchphrases above so it's hard to know where to put Bazinga on the list.
On a positive note though, you deserve an award for this thread. I think you finally found a topic that we never discussed on the old or new boards!

Did Bart Simpson stop saying "Don't have a cow, man!" ?

Don't remember seeing a previous discussion either.
Anyway…
It was the “What I am is Sexy Trash." line from “The Umbrella Academy” that gave me the idea. A mellowed out sibs said it to two of his other sibs in explaining why he, unlike them, didn’t have the save-the-day courage it takes to become a martyr. The 'Sexy Trash' stuck with me.
As for not agreeing with the list; that’s understandable; to paraphrase, “one person’s cup of tea....”

Probably would have made some lists...but, didn't make this one...and probably wouldn't have made others. Just because certain phrases "ring our bell"...sometimes
is all they'll get from others.
For those of you giving this list a

Happy Days also had "Sit on it!"
And I remember "Up your nose with a rubber hose" from Welcome Back Kotter.
(Kaplan's original version was not acceptable for TV.)

It was dumbed down in the process of being made less obscene for TV.

But I've heard of a different version too.
