Will this be remembered as one of the greatest sitcoms ever (like top 25)?
Would the likelihood of it being remembered that way increase if it had ended after Season 5 or 6?

I think it will remain popular. It may not ever get to the level of Friends, because most people aren't smart enough to understand that BBT is better.
But we are.

For the next 25 years:
1- Top 10: yes.
2- Top 5: perhaps.
If it had ended after season five:
"Boldly go where (S)TOS has gone before."

Thanks for your answer! I wondered if you would elaborate a little more on the last sentence. I just wanted to make sure I understood. ☺

I will agree with you on this Knixon. Although in all honesty I've never watched a single episode of Friends. Not one. And I'm pretty proud of it.

I had the misfortune of seeing part of one where one of the regulars thinks she has the ghost of a deceased customer (old lady) in her. The ghost won't depart because she "hasn't seen everything." I knew right off that it was going to be a "now I've seen everything" gag, and I was right. After the regular attends a lesbian wedding, the ghost - through her - says "now I've seen everything" and departs.
I suppose that was totally unexpected and completely hilarious to anyone with an IQ of... oh, 50?

Yes, my IQ is 50. Lucky guess.

So not even after the first "But I haven't seen everything!" let alone the second and third, etc, you still didn't know it was going to be "Now I've seen everything?"
I'm sorry about your IQ.

I try to relax with sitcoms and my memory retrieval is delayed. For example, when Leonard confronts Kurt alone. Your mind goes blank, so what happens next stays funny. And when you do remember, you hope that there might be some alternate outcome.

So you're like Paula Poundstone?
Something like:
"My attention span is perfect for movies. I'm the only person I know who can see the movie Hoosiers and each time worry that they might lose the big game."

Nah, I just temporarily delay the data retrieval from that section of the memory bank, where information of the sitcom, that I'm viewing, is stored.
