Like I said: I enjoy a lounge chair, a beverage and a book. But without fail, whenever I start reading in public, somebody will want to talk to me.

If you wear headphones while reading in public, even if you're not really listening to any music, I find people are less inclined to disturb you. Wear a pair of those huge wrap-over-the ears headphone so no one will be able to miss them. Has the added benefit of tuning out some of the ambient noise so you can concentrate more on your book.

I'll give that a try, but for me, I always have a book handy but not always ear phones.

I also like going to the beach and looking for pirates.
