“Reports of My Death Have Been Greatly Exaggerated” – Mark Twain.

Turns out the Cuoco hoax was just the latest in a string of fake celebrity death reports.

I guess some folks are more bored than others. When it comes to relieving the boredom of sheltering-place, some go to extremes to liven up their day. Also, It’s surprising how many fans and others rushed to “spread the word” and/or to offer “RIPs” messages–-without even bothering to confirm the "rumor".

(1) Who are these knuckle-draggers who put out this kind of celebrity-died-stuff; and what’s in it for them?

(2) In an age when fake news is a staple, why would anyone upon hearing such a thing be so quick to spread the "news" without, at least, verifying it.

(3) If no (legitimate) news outlet on the planet is carrying such a story...how likely is it to be true?

(4) Did her PR Team put this together to kick up some free (does she have a TV show/movie/book coming up) press?

What say you?

Can’t remember the name of the poster’s from this show's Old Board who used to drive other posters bonkers. The poster constantly wrote encyclopedic impthumbsdown comments re: Cuoco/Penny. The poster carried on as if they were ranting about someone who had cleaned out their bank account and run off with their lover.

For old times' sake...

...hope that poster was in the middle of a back flip when they found out that the story was a hoax.

I hadn't heard the rumor until I read your post.

Then I guess...

Question #4: "Did her PR Team put this together to kick up some free (does she have a TV show/movie/book coming up) press?"

...is a bust.

I'm curious where you saw this?

I haven't heard about this either. But I did read that Jim Parsons said that he was stir crazy enough to bleach his hair when he was on the Ellen show.

Go anywhere and type in: "Cuoco death hoax".

No doubt, it got overshadowed by all the Coronavirus Pandemic news. With the media, et al. reporting Coronavirus numbers like box scores; is it any wonder?

As for Parsons...didn't see him on Ellen; but did see his stir-crazy-bleach-hair clip on YouTube. Think there is a lot of that going around. Not the bleach hair part; but the stir crazy part.

I did & this is the result (see link). The only stories that had Cuoco's name attached were from March & April 2019. The only 'death hoax' stories on the first page were about Betty White.

It was reported on that website.

Try this

Maybe it's because I do not use FB, I do read the news (US, World, Local, Tech, Entertainment, Science, & Health categories from different sources) daily but didn't see anything about it until I read this post.

An article about a Hoax that is a Hoax?

What will these cretins think of nextinterrobang
