Happy Earth Day!
Today, April 22, is the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day. It is observed worldwide as a way of reminding and educating people about environmental concerns, as well as to encourage everyone to actively support efforts to improve and protect the environment.
This year’s theme is “Climate Change”…
“Climate change represents the biggest challenge to the future of humanity and the life-support systems that make our world habitable.” (IBTimes)
In celebration, here are a few notable quotes:
--William Shakespeare: "One touch of nature makes the whole world kin."
--Henry David Thoreau: "I took a walk in the woods and came out taller than the trees."
--John Muir: "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."
--Alex Trebek: "If you can't be in awe of Mother Nature, there's something wrong with you."

Didn't see anything about a certain date. But, it seems they have an international conference each year. Complete details about their 2020 conference don’t seem to be available yet; but I did find the excerpt below from an article by "The Maritime Executive."
“In what promises to be its "biggest, boldest, best adventure yet," conference organizer Kryptoz Media is planning a Flat Earth Cruise in 2020.
When it dawns on you what's absolutely hilarious about that excerpt, please come back and share.
In the meantime, here is someone who will be at the celebration regardless.

Seems to be human nature to put down those who step off the beaten path.
As for your "here" and "here" clips...a lot more time than I want to invest in a topic on a discussion board.

We got hail a couple of days ago and flurries this a.m. Our “high” temperature is lower than our usual “low” temperature would be. Even so, just because the sun isn't melting faces one place, doesn't mean people don’t have to wear SPF 3000 sunscreen in others.

In respect for, and in observation of, Earth Day, I will put off mowing the lawn until some other day.
The other week my nearest neighbours had two of their huge trees cut down, the resultant stumps bored out, then ran a second paved driveway. As a result, there's less oxygen and the such to be had from trees and green lawn (also a beautiful shrubbery and flowers bed that additionally fell victim to the new driveway) around here these days.
Unfortunately, steadily more and more of the earth's green area is destroyed and replaced with pavement, buildings, and whatever all else.
