Considering the gravity of the Coronavirus pandemic, and the havoc it has wreaked around the globe, do you think the team(s) that develops a treatment for it likely will receive, at least, a Nobel Prize nomination...if not the Prize itself?

What kind of Nobel Prize categories are there? If there's one in medicine then absolutely yes.

Considering the number of people working on it and the people working on the work of other people etc, it doesn't seem like any one person would be The One who discovers The Cure. But if someone winds up being in that position, I would hope they would either decline graciously, or at least give credit to a lot of other people in their speech. Even more than Sheldon did in his.

Meanwhile, on the lighter side...

In honor of the old BC comics where one character would see clams walking around on the beach and yell to the others, "CLAMS GOT LEGS!" etc, I'm going to go with...

CORONAVIRUS GOT GRAVITY!!!

Had to eyes

Chemistry
Economics
Literature
Peace
Physics
Physiology or Medicine

"The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine is awarded yearly by the Nobel Foundation for outstanding discoveries in the fields of life sciences and medicine."

Same here, I’d expect the Nobel Committee to sit up and take notice of such an achievement.

Have become quite the fan of Dr. Fauci.

Too bad his herculean efforts to save us from ourselves don’t fall into one of the Nobel Prize eligible categories.

Can't believe the man is getting death threats. Considering the weight of this public burden, AND the "workarounds” he, no doubt, has had to pull off so that “saner heads” could prevail, you’d think that gratitude, not hostility, would be the order of the day.

Really? You don't know that there is a medicine category?

Do you hang out on message boards to discuss things or to try to make people feel stupid?

Why not both? But you haven't always been kind in your responses to others either. I just find it odd that you didn't know that. This isn't the first time you guys have discussed the Nobel prize.

I'm done. You can explain it to the others.

Tim, I'm sorry.

I discovered The Cure in the 80s. As for The One , that would be Dennis Kim. Too bad his talent now lies at the bottom of a paper bag.

Or, Dr. Bernadette Maryann Rostenkowski-Wolowitz.

No one's getting cured until Bernie gets her espresso and an apple pie. Penny has a sample in her case but she needs a foot rub. Come on people we don't have all day.

Was justthinkingwhat happened to the actor, Austin Lee, who played Kim. Checked his profile page, you-know-where, and found nothing recent. Did a search; and here is an excerpt from an article (“Express" 10/29/19) about his role on the show.

"In fact, this was the last acting job Lee had as a whole – he appears to have turned his back on acting and Big Bang remains his last credit."

Guess, not everyone wants to grow up to be a superstar.

Maybe, no Nobel; but, the next best thing sunglasses...
