How are you guys coping with the Coronavirus outbreak. Seems like every few years one of these things pops up out of nowhere.
Now every little sneeze, cough, headache, etc. you or yours have cause you to worry. Even a trip to the market is an in-and-out venture…no leisurely browsing and/or chit-chatting in the aisles with a fellow shopper.
There is a lot of misinformation out there. And, of course, snake oil salesmen and shysters trying to make a quick buck. Then there are the folks who love to hear the sound of their own voice coming out of the woodwork to prey on everyone's fears.
As for me, we've had a longstanding work-at-home policy; so for now no traumatic changes are required. Must say that I’m adhering to the recommendation to avoid crowds as much as possible. I don't have to ride the bus or the train so I've lucked out in that regard.
Anyway...
Stay vigilant.
Stay safe.

Funny, you never realize how often you do...until you are warned not to.

Not such a big deal, as long as you WASH YOUR HANDS! (And do it properly.)
Which people should ALWAYS be doing, really.

As long as each of you stay at least 6 feet from me while we're posting we should all be OK.

The thing is we touch our faces all day long without realizing it. If you are out & about, you touch a doorknob to open a door, your nose itches & without thinking about it you scratch your nose, therefore you have transferred the germs from that doorknob to your nose!
Even before this virus took hold (for a couple of years now) I have been wearing a face mask in public, I keep my distance from people, etc. I'm a huge germaphobe but it also reminds me NOT TO TOUCH MY FACE until I get home & can thoroughly wash my hands. I must be doing something right because I have never had the flu & haven't had a cold in 40 years or so.

The problem there is that regular "consumer" face masks - the kind you see people in China wear a lot, etc - are designed not to keep YOU from GETTING something, they're to keep YOU from GIVING something to SOMEONE ELSE.
So you wearing a mask doesn't really protect you. What you need is to somehow require EVERYONE ELSE to wear them. Good luck with that.
And I bet you've never been hit by a meteor either, so that tin-foil hat must really work!

I don't think gorillas weigh 800 lbs. That would be really fat.

I know what they say but it still serves a good purpose, reminding me not to touch my face.

You know; it might be instinctual. We do it constantly (and as you said "without realizing it"). Maybe once upon a time all that face-handling served an important purpose. Now, however, maybe the purpose for doing it is long gone, but an innate need to do it still remains.

Then there are hazmat suits. But, lots of luck with that. They seem to be selling out fast.

In all seriousness, the coronavirus has affected our family to a small extent. My college-age sons have been home this week on their spring break and we just learned that their spring break has been extended by another week, and then their classes will be remote for the foreseeable future.
