OT: Coronavirus – The "800-Pound Gorilla" In Every Room

How are you guys coping with the Coronavirus outbreak. Seems like every few years one of these things pops up out of nowhere.
Now every little sneeze, cough, headache, etc. you or yours have cause you to worry. Even a trip to the market is an in-and-out venture…no leisurely browsing and/or chit-chatting in the aisles with a fellow shopper.
There is a lot of misinformation out there. And, of course, snake oil salesmen and shysters trying to make a quick buck. Then there are the folks who love to hear the sound of their own voice coming out of the woodwork to prey on everyone's fears.
As for me, we've had a longstanding work-at-home policy; so for now no traumatic changes are required. Must say that I’m adhering to the recommendation to avoid crowds as much as possible. I don't have to ride the bus or the train so I've lucked out in that regard.
Anyway...
Stay vigilant.

People just need to do it right. Don't be like the people who blame Trump because they ate fish tank cleaner because they read it contains chloroquine, the husband died and the wife I heard is still in bad shape but expected to survive.

Well, maybe the maker of the fish tank cleaner stuff forgot to put "Note To Idiots: Don't Eat This Stuff!" on the package. So they'll get sued.

I'm trying to take a positive view of things. Like the Darwin awards, these people are thinning the herd so the smarter people will have more stuff.

Saw on the news yesterday that the sale of ammo as gone up 777%, and that applications for gun permits up over 300%.
Can't know what it says about our country that guns/ammo places, along with alcohol and pot stores are considered essential.

Yeah...and also heard it on the news. No doubt, with the meetings closed down, sponsors have their work cut out for them. A face-to-face beats the heck out of phone calls...but, any port in the storm.

AA meetings closed. Liquor stores open. Hold the meetings in the liquor stores. Case closed.
