I have noticed that the lighting in some new shows is extremely dim. The two specific shows I'm referring to are Mindhunter and Ozark, both of which I've just started watching. I'm sure the dark lighting is, in part, to set the mood. But I wonder, too, if it's supposed to make the show appear somewhat slick, minimalist and trendy.
Well I don't like it! To watch these shows we have to turn up the brightness on the TV and turn out some of the lights in the room just to see what's going on. Kudos to TBBT characters for not sulking around in the dark!
What do you say about this low-lighting epidemic?

What do you think of the lightning in shows today? Do you prefer cloud-to-cloud or cloud-to-ground? ⚡⚡

I prefer my lightning delivered via Tesla Coil or if unavailable then by bug.

Thanks for posting that Tim. I could see a stage version of Serial Apeist done that way with Penny in the lead and as narrator. Like Tom in The Glass Menagerie. I can see Niles as the Ape with Frasier directing the production and Lilith as the mad scientist . We will need Wheaton back so his name can sell tickets🦍
Leonard can be the usher and take people to their seats while saying "that's my girlfriend up there"

Lightning bugs do not actually shoot lightning out of their butts. Their glow is due to the combination of two enzymes in their abdomens. Obviously you didn't read my book, "The Complete Compendium of Inset Butt Myths".

Where I'm from we call them fireflies. And they do shoot fire out of their butts. Or maybe that's just from dropping the tiny cigarettes they smoke.

No wonder your state has the highest insect emphysema rate.
Where I'm from we use fireflies and lightning bugs interchangeably. Our bugs are free thinkers and prefer not to be pigeon-holed into one name or another.

Tell it to the snowy tree crickets. You mistakenly call them a common field cricket and you are in for a lecture on entymology.

I haven't been on speaking terms with crickets for years.
Have you ever thought that the word entomology sounds like someone made up a scientific name with a mouthful of peanut butter?

Reminds of that peanut butter machine in that fancy store of yours.

Now you've told the whole board (all 4 of them) that we go shopping on a regular basis. That was top secret.
In some countries they eat bugs. Do you think their fancy stores have firefly and cricket dispensers?

You've never had chocolate covered insects? All the chocolaty goodness of chocolate with all the crunchy you just ate a bug yuckyness of insects.
