From Tim in another thread: "So if you're not entertaining, it's **OUR **fault? You better be careful or I won't tell you about the time I wore a T-shirt."

I am sitting next to a roaring fireplace, criss-cross-apple-sauce, sipping my Sanka and ready to hear about your t-shirt. It's about time you told me a story about a new topic. I can only stretch crawdads so far.

If your story makes the cut, I'll tell you about some earmuffs.

EDIT: And anyone is welcome to post in this thread. We may all have some things to say about Tim's shirt.

I promise you, it's not that funny.

Let's just say it involved a church group and a misunderstanding of the phrase "casual dress".

Well, I won't force the issue, but think of all the fun your crawdad story has given us since you originally told it to me. purple_heart

I will say that I've been to an event before where my dress wasn't quite right, although in my case I didn't realize it until years later when my brain hit that stage of development where it actually worked. I chose to wear silky, rainbow-striped, leopard-spotted short shorts to a family reunion. (Go back and re-read that and really picture it.) Most people there were probably over the age of 70... and then there was (approximately) 13-year-old me. Their great niece, the street walker.

Well, my story was similar. Only I was a grown up going to a Sunday School teacher conference. Saturday afternoon in the summer. "Oh don't worry about what to wear" says the Pastor "It's all very casual"

So there I am in faded blue jeans and a T-shirt with funny saying. Everybody (and I do mean *EVERYBODY *) else was in suits and ties. Like I said, not as funny as the other posts.

Well, in your case, you were misled and I don't see it as your fault. Casual means casual, and suits and ties aren't casual. Poor Tim. Though I bet all those fellas dressed up in the heat of summer envied your cooler clothes. My two questions are:

1.What was the funny saying on your shirt?

And

2.Did you inwardly chuckle about it or were you mortified? I'm thinking my Timlet had to have gotten a bit of a kick out of it. relaxed

1) I don't recall exactly but it was along the lines of:

To do is to be - Socrates

To be is to do-Aristotle

Do be do be do- Sinatra

2) I was not exactly mortified but DANG it was close

I know an insult when one is carefully explained to me. I am **OFFICIALY **hurt.

My people will speak to your people.

Help me Lemons. Tim is using some kind of inverse psychology.

I think I would have gone with "Yabba dabba doo! - Fred Flintstone."

This story just makes me think you were the most fun one in the room. And now I know what kind of shirt you've been smearing brownie crumbs into.

I hope you'll tell me more stories. It gives me new ways to tickle you.

Someday I hope to sit between you and Tim and do nothing but giggle the whole day.

I am still waiting for an explanation as to why Lemons went to Hawaii. Especially to a place where they don't have an internet connection.

Did she go to Malaki? I understand they have a terrific weight loss clinic there.

Malachi Throne was great as Alexander Mundy's boss in "It Takes A Thief."

Lemons was working on her master's degree. She went to Hawaii for research for her thesis paper: "Peter and the Tiki: A Very Brady Tragedy". We have to call her Dr. Lemons p.h d. now.

Well it's actually Ph.D. But wouldn't she be B.B.D? Doctor of Brady Bunch?
